I'm 22 and I will be graduating this January from Queens College, CUNY. I have majored in Comparative Literature and Creative Writing, and also studied Accounting and Math. I want to write, but I need to find a job/career that will help me to support myself and also stimulate my mind.

Re: MFA info

It might vary depending on the program, but I had NO teaching experience going in and they gave me one. It might be a factor that is considered in the process, but basically I think funding and assistantships are based on what they think of you and your manuscript quality. Many programs give assistantships to all MFA grad students (and probably in composition, not creative writing) but those might be smaller programs.

Re: MFA info

Can I just say I'm very jealous that you go to the U of A! I applied there for my PhD in music and the ONLY SOLE professor that would work with me (a limit 1 person program mind you) decided to go on a sebaticle next year so I was denied! *pouts* It's a beautiful school and I love Tucson! :o) Great community!
